Official Rules

Be The People is an effort to reignite the American spirit by shining a light on those stepping up to solve problems and inviting others to join in. Be The People is a program of Bigger Picture US, Inc.

Promotion Period: June 18, 2026, at 12:00:00 a.m. ET through July 26, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MAKING A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

1. To Enter: 

1. Register at https://bethepeopleopencall.com/ and provide your name and a valid email address for age verification, winner notification and prize fulfillment purposes.

2. Visit https://bethepeopleopencall.com/ to download the instrumental version, sheet music and stems for "Gotta Be Us”.

3. Create your video: sing the lyrics, add a verse, dance to it, make a new beat, or create something new

4. Post your video submission and tag it with #BeThePeopleOpenCall and @bethepeople on Instagram or @bethepeopleorg on TikTok.

Each person who submits a video in accordance with these Official Rules is an "Entrant." The video submitted by an Entrant is an "Entry." Any audio recording made by the Grand Prize winner during recording sessions conducted as part of the Grand Prize trip is a "Track." For the avoidance of doubt, an Entry and a Track are separate works; the Grant of Rights in Section 6 applies independently to each.

Entrants are required to have an Instagram or TikTok account, available for free sign up at Instagram.com and https://www.tiktok.com/. Your Instagram and TikTok account settings must be set to 'public' through the end of the Promotion Period and judging window so that the Sponsor/Administrator can view and validate your entry.

Limit one (1) entry per person/Instagram or TikTok account. When posting on Instagram or TikTok using a mobile device, message and data rates may apply. Consult your service provider's plan prior to entering via a mobile device. Your Instagram and TikTok account must be personal and publicly viewable. Your Instagram and TikTok account may not be a corporate or shared account.

Entry Video Requirements:

1. Videos must be between one (1) and two (2) minutes long.

2. No music may be included in the video except "Gotta Be Us.”

3. Videos must be original, not previously published, owned solely by the entrant, and must not infringe on any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity. Modifying, enhancing, or altering a third party's preexisting work does not qualify as an entrant's original creation.

4. Only you (the entrant) may be identified or depicted in the video, unless Entrant has express written consent from any third party identified or depicted in the video.

5. Entries may not:

1. include any content that may be considered obscene, violent, or offensive;

2. infringe on the privacy of any person

3. communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive image and good will of Be The People

Entrants that are minors in their state of residence must have express written permission from their parent or legal guardian, who must complete the consent form at https://bethepeopleopencall.com, to enter the Contest and submit their video in accordance with these Official Rules. If a minor is selected as the Grand Prize winner, both the minor and the minor's parent or legal guardian must execute a written assignment and release in the form provided by the Sponsor prior to any recording session. Failure to execute such documents within the time specified by Sponsor may result in forfeiture of the prize.

The provided stems, sheet music, and instrumental tracks are licensed to the entrant solely for the purpose of participating in this Contest, and all rights to the underlying musical work remain with Bigger Picture US, Inc. Any commercial use or distribution outside of this Contest is strictly prohibited.

Any entries that contain, depict, or show such content as defined above and/or that violate these requirements and/or the terms of these Official Rules will be disqualified.

The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole and unfettered discretion to disqualify any entry that they believe is inappropriate or not suitable for publication, that does not comply with these Official Rules, or that is not consistent with the spirit or theme of the Contest.

Sponsor and its promotion partners reserve the right to publish any submitted entries, in full or in part, in any and all media. Publication of an entry is not intended to indicate that the entry has been selected as a prize winner or is favored in any way. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged. By submitting an entry, you explicitly acknowledge and agree to the Grant of Rights set forth in Rule 6 below. You also grant Sponsor the right to use your name, voice, likeness, image, and biographical information as contained in or in connection with your Entry, for purposes of promoting the Contest, the Be The People program, and Sponsor's mission, in any and all media, without additional compensation.

In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of any entrant, the entry will be deemed made by the person identified as the authorized account holder of the Instagram or TikTok handle associated with the entry. Contest is void where prohibited, and is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.

Participants consent to the use of their entries and registration information in accordance with the Be The People privacy statement, available at [https://www.bethepeople.org/privacy-policy]. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Entrants agree to the release of their name, address, and email information to Sponsor for winner notification purposes and for public winner disclosure, as required by law.

2. Eligibility:
   The Contest is open to citizens and lawful permanent residents of the 50 United States and Washington D.C., 16 years of age or older at the time of entry. For those between the age of 16-18, a legal guardian must complete the consent form located at https://bethepeopleopencall.com/. Not open to employees and their families (spouses, parents, children/siblings and their respective spouses, and those living in the same household) of Bigger Picture US. ("Sponsor”), PROMOSIS, Inc. ("Administrator”), their subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, promotion partners, and advertising and production agencies. Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to Sponsor's and Administrator's decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.

3. Judging Criteria:
   All entries will be judged on the following criteria in all rounds of judging, with equal weight given to each:

1. Overall quality, creativity, and originality of Entry

2. Production quality of the Entry

3. Appropriateness of the Entry to be used in connection with Be The People

4. Sponsor and Administrator reserve the right to declare non-qualified entries (those that are plagiarized, created under false pretenses or with false statements, show obvious lack of effort, contain incomplete, inapplicable, or inappropriate content, etc. or that are otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules as determined by Sponsor or Administrator in their sole discretion) ineligible.

4.  Judging, Winner Notification, and Verification:
All Entries will be screened for eligibility compliance by Promosis, Inc., an independent judging organization whose decisions in all matters relating to this Contest are final. Eligible entries will be judged by Promosis to determine not more than twenty-five (25) potential finalists.

Finalist entries will be judged approximately between July 27– August 7, 2026 to determine one (1) potential Grand Prize winner and 10 First Prize winners, based on review and the established criteria listed above. Under the supervision of Promosis, finalist entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts provided by Bigger Picture US, Inc.

The panel will exercise their sole, independent professional judgment based on the criteria and methodology described herein (collectively, the "Judging Criteria”). The potential Grand Prize winner and First Prize winners will be notified by Instagram or TikTok Direct Message and by email from Sponsor or PROMOSIS on or around July 27, 2026 and will be required to complete and submit an online winner verification, including liability and publicity releases within three (3) days of the date and time the initial notification is sent to the potential winner. If no response is received within the time allotted, prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be determined and notified from the remaining group of Finalists. Any alternate potential winner selected will also be required to respond to the notification within three days (3) days. If potential winners are minors in their state of residence, all required documents must be signed by their parent or legal guardian and the minor. 

Potential Grand Prize winner will also be required to provide their Social Security number, to be issued an IRS 1099-MISC tax form for the retail value of the prize won. Winner agrees to receive the IRS 1099-MISC form via email. Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules, including verification that the winner is sixteen (16) years of age or older, the potential winner will be declared the official winner of the Promotion.

If Sponsor or Administrator cannot verify that the potential winner is sixteen (16) years of age or older prior to winner notification, then the potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner will be determined as described above.

5. Prizes: 
   One (1) Grand Prize: A trip to a recording studio in LA or NYC for two (2) nights to record the winner's version of the song. The recording session itself constitutes the Grand Prize. Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, release the recorded track with paid media support to reignite the American spirit by shining a light on those stepping up to solve problems and inviting others to join in, but release is not guaranteed and does not form part of the prize. Any such release or promotion is undertaken solely to advance the purposes of Be The People and does not constitute an additional prize or benefit to the winner.

The Grand Prize consists of: round trip air travel for winner and one (1) guest between the major U.S. gateway airport nearest the winner's home and Los Angeles or New York City, as determined solely in the Sponsor's discretion, two (2) nights accommodations (one room/double occupancy) and a $250 Visa eGift card for ground transportation. Approximate Retail Value = $4,000. Actual value of Grand Prizes may vary based on timing of trip, location of departure city, and assessment of prize elements publicly available. Difference between actual value and stated value, if any, will not be awarded in cash or other consideration. Grand Prize winner is responsible for any incidental travel costs not expressly stated above, including but not limited to transportation to/from airport in departure city, passenger tariffs or duties, surcharges, airport fees, service charges or facility charges, meals, personal charges at lodging, or other expenses.Any other costs associated with the Grand Prize trip are the winner's responsibility, and are not included. [Grand Prize Winner must travel on dates selected by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.] By accepting the Grand Prize, Winner agrees to the Grant of Rights to such any tracks made during recording sessions during the Grand Prize trip Tracks and agrees to execute all documents required by Sponsor with regard to such Grant of Rights, including, without limitation, a release in the form provided by Sponsor, granting Sponsor the right to use the winner's name, voice, likeness, image, and biographical information in connection with the release, distribution, promotion, and advertising of the Track and the Be The People program, in any and all media, in perpetuity, without additional compensation.

Ten (10) First Prizes: A mentorship package consisting of one (1) approximately sixty (60)-minute session with each of the designated Contest panel judges to provide industry guidance and mentorship (a "Music Mentorship Session”). Approximate retail value of First Prize = $400.

Music Mentorship Sessions will be conducted virtually (e.g., via Zoom, Google Meet, or a similar video conferencing platform) or via telephone, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. The exact dates and times of the Music Mentorship Sessions will be determined by Sponsor and are strictly subject to the respective judges' schedules and availability. The Music Mentorship Session must be completed by 5/1/2027.

If a designated panel judge becomes unavailable for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a judge of equal or similar industry standing, or to award the remainder of the prize without further compensation.

The travel guest of the Grand Prize winner will be required to complete a liability/publicity release (where permitted by law) before the trip is booked. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary and are solely responsible for obtaining any and all required travel documentation. Grand Prize trip and components are subject to scheduling availability and certain other restrictions.Sponsor will not be responsible for replacement of any lost or stolen tickets or travel vouchers once they are in winner's possession or in the possession of the winner's guest. If a Grand Prize winner elects to travel or partake in a prize without a guest, no additional compensation will be awarded to the winner. If the Grand Prize winner is a minor in his/her state of residence, his/her parent or legal guardian must accompany, and be the designated guest of, the Grand Prize Winner. Sponsor is not responsible for any postponement, delays, or cancellation of air travel in connection with the prize trip or any postponement, delays, or cancellation of event, due to illnesses, epidemics or other reasons. Sponsor bears no responsibility if any event, element, or detail of a prize is canceled, postponed, or becomes unavailable for any reason. Should any event, element, or detail of a prize become unavailable, the Sponsor shall have no obligation to the winner aside from providing the remaining portion of the prize, minus any unavailable event, element, or detail.

Winners are solely responsible for all taxes on their prizes. No substitution for prize or parts thereof, except by Sponsor as may be due to unavailability. If originally-offered prize or any prize element is unavailable at the time of award, Sponsor may substitute an item of comparable or additional value. In no event will Sponsor be obligated to award more than the number of prizes stated in these Official Rules. 

6. Grant of Rights.

By submitting an Entry or recording a Track, you irrevocably and forever grant and assign to Sponsor and its designees all worldwide right, title and interest in and to your Entry or Track (and all works derived from them), including all intellectual property and publicity rights. Without limiting the foregoing, Sponsor and its designees shall have the irrevocable, worldwide right in perpetuity to edit, use, market, sell, alter, post, reproduce, publicly display, publish, license, sub-license, or otherwise exploit your Entry or Track, or products based on your Entry or Track, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, without further notice, approval, or compensation to you. You represent and warrant that: (a) your Entry or Track is original and does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or any other rights of any third party; (b) you have obtained all necessary permissions, consents, and releases from any person depicted, identified, or whose work is incorporated in your Entry or Track; and (c) you have full authority to grant the rights set forth in this Section 6.

You expressly waive all rights to review or approve Sponsor's use of such materials and waive all rights of attribution, integrity, and moral rights. You further acknowledge and agree that you will not now or in the future be paid or compensated in any way for your Entry or Track or any rights granted or assigned to Sponsor.

You agree to release and indemnify Sponsor, Administrator and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, Contest partners, their advertising and production agencies, and judges, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives, and Instagram (collectively, the Released Parties”) from any liability or claims arising from such use, including without limitation, claims for invasion of privacy, infringement of rights, and defamation.

7. Limitation of Liability: Released Parties are not responsible for typographical errors in any Contest-related materials; for lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete registrations/entries or email; for technical, hardware, software, Internet, or telephone failures of any kind; for lost or unavailable network connections; for viruses; for failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions that may limit or interfere with a participant's ability to take part in the Contest; or for non-delivery of any prize due to factors beyond Sponsor's control, including lost, late, or misdirected deliveries or any delay or suspension of service that may affect prize delivery.Entries generated by script, macro, or other automated entry devices are not valid and will be disqualified. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify and seek prosecution of any entrant who disrupts or interferes with the proper play of the Contest, or acts in violation these Official Rules in any way.
   
   Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify Contest if fraud or technical failure compromises the integrity of the Contest, or corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If the Contest is canceled for any reason, including but not limited to those stated above, winners will be determined by judging all eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of cancellation based on the Judging Criteria. Released Parties shall not be liable for injury, losses, damages, or costs of any kind resulting from participation in this Contest, or acceptance of or use or misuse of a prize or parts thereof. By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.By participating in the Contest, each entrant releases and agrees to indemnify the Released Parties and hold them harmless from and against any and all costs, claims, damages, (including, without limitation, any special, incidental or consequential damages), or any other injury, whether due to negligence or otherwise, to person(s) or property (including, without limitation, death or violation of any intellectual property rights or personal rights (such as violation of right of publicity/privacy, libel, or slander), due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to participation in the Contest, or arising out of participation in any Contest related or prize related activity, or the receipt, enjoyment, participation in, use or misuse, of any Contest or prize related activity, whether hosted by Bigger Picture US or a third party.This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with TikTok, Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
   
   

8. Dispute Resolution: THIS Contest IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS, WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this Contest, participant agrees that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Massachusetts having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys' fees, other than participants' actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this Contest), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
